Switching

Moving SMS traffic from Infobip to eSMS Africa

  1. 1

    Swap the send call

Replace your SMS send request with a POST to https://sms.esmsafrica.io/api/messages/send carrying to, sender_id and text. Bulk sends use send-bulk with per-recipient merge fields.

  2. 2

    Sender IDs

Request your sender IDs with us per country. In Kenya, Safaricom allows an ID with only one provider at a time, so plan the cut-over date.

  3. 3

    SMPP clients

If you bind over SMPP, we issue credentials for SMPP 3.4 and whitelist your IPs. Throughput is agreed per account.

  4. 4

    Validate with test keys

Use esms_test_ keys to check payloads and webhooks before sending live traffic.

FAQ

eSMS Africa vs Infobip: questions

Infobip shows prices through an interactive calculator on its pricing page and offers custom pricing through sales. eSMS Africa publishes per-country rates in local currency and USD on our pricing page.

How long does sender ID registration take?

It depends on the network. Infobip's coverage table lists 20 or more days for local registration in several East African markets. We publish our own steps and fees per country on the sender ID pages.

Yes. Route one country or one message type (for example OTPs) through eSMS Africa first, compare delivery reports, then move more traffic.
